UV absorbing agent added to sunscreens as a UV-A and UV-B filter. Marketed by Ciba Specialty Chemicals as Tinosorb M. It is the first of a new class of sunscreens that combine the benefits of an organic and an inorganic filter. TINOSORB M can be incorporated in sunscreens, but also in day care products as well as skin lightening products.
